Greetings! I am Anycia Grady, MSSA, LISW-S, and the founder of Seeking Supervision. My journey toward obtaining my highest-level licensure was an eight-year odyssey filled with challenges, missed opportunities, and the frustration of navigating a system that often felt insurmountable. I vividly recall the countless hours spent searching for a supervisor back in 2011, only to discover that many of the efforts were in vain—sometimes because the supervision didn’t count towards my clinical license, as my supervisors were not Social Workers.

Determined not to let these setbacks define my career, I reached out to colleagues, often pleading for the support I needed to advance. It wasn’t until a colleague from Coshocton, Ohio, graciously agreed to help me with the remaining hours that I was finally able to achieve my LISW. This experience left an indelible mark on me, driving my passion to become a supervisor myself and support the next generation of leaders.

The idea for Seeking Supervision first took root in 2015, fueled by the knowledge that I wasn’t alone in this struggle. Although life’s circumstances delayed its development, I never lost sight of my vision. Then, when I launched my own Private Practice just before the COVID-19 pandemic, I witnessed firsthand the devastating impact of the licensure gap—especially within the Black community. The demand for mental health services skyrocketed, yet providers were stretched thin, and agencies faced staff shortages that led to financial strain and layoffs.

These experiences crystallized my resolve: more needed to be done. In 2023, Seeking Supervision was officially born to address the critical need for independently licensed providers. My mission is clear—to eliminate licensure barriers and streamline supervision through a web-based marketplace that directly connects supervisees with qualified supervisors. No one should have to beg for supervision.

Working in the Human Resources space, I have always been drawn to the space between people and systems, the space where clarity,
care, and connection can either thrive or quietly break down. My work in HR and organizational development began with a deep curiosity about how people grow, lead, and navigate change, especially in environments where the stakes are high and the mission is personal.

I now serve as the Chief People Officer at Seeking Supervision, where I’m helping to build our people systems and workplace culture from the ground up. Our mission to make clinical supervision and professional development more equitable, sustainable, and human which aligns with everything Ibelieve about how we care for those who care for others.

Over the past 12 years, I’ve worked across large institutions, fast-paced startups, and mission-driven nonprofits. I have built HR systems, led learning and development work, andguided teams through change and growth. But what’s mattered most to me is how I’ve led that work by creating space for growth, building trust, and staying grounded in what people actually need to thrive.

Certified in both Human Resource and Leadership Coaching use that dual lens to design structures that support real people not just processes. I work closely with leadership to create cultures of transparency, trust, and belonging, especially in remote and evolving environments like ours.

I believe that organizational culture is not just a program, it is a practice. And I am here to help build a workplacewhere people feel safe, valued, and aligned with the purpose that brought them here in the first place.

Chief Marketing Officer

A dynamic and customer-centric marketing leader with over 15 years of experience in nonprofit, information technology, and consumer goods, my expertise lies in content marketing and lead generation for organizations of all sizes – from local nonprofits to Fortune 500 companies.

As CMO of Seeking Supervision, I’m here to do more than just sell a service. I’m here to build a relationship and provide value. For me, a passion for marketing is about leveraging content for storytelling and connecting on a meaningful level.

The main characters in the Seeking Supervision story are the millions of clients - our families, friends, colleagues and members of our communities - who require mental health services to cope, navigate life’s challenges, or just need a listening ear. The supporting cast are the selfless, mental health professionals (like you) who have dedicated their lives to supporting others. But making connections to obtain the required supervision is often fraught with obstacles, prolonging time to licensure. Seeking Supervision is here to bridge that gap – expediting the connection of supervisors to supervisees so they can do the important work of providing the services clients need to survive and thrive.

In a rapidly changing digital landscape, I thrive on the opportunity to learn new things and find innovative ways to help a Seeking Supervision stand out. I am committed to creating a clear, purposeful, and memorable experience, one supervisor-supervisee connection at a time.
